Since May 1st always is a bank holiday in Austria and fortunately was a Thursday this year, everything led to a long weekend off! And I think you can guess what I’m doing with 4 free days… Of course, traveling and photography needs to be included!
Eva from foodtastic told me a long time ago about a food styling and photography workshop in Italy in these days – and she didn’t need to ask me twice. The organizers and lectures for this workshop were Meeta K. Wolff and Jeanne Horak-Druiff – both internationally respected bloggers whose blogs has been nominated for several awards and can also be found on the Times Online’s Top 50 Food Blogs. So having a look on their work is highly recommended!
Now back to our road trip… So we started at early 7am on May 1st and had a long, unhurried car trip down to Valdobbiad
For the next two days we had a fabulous program packed with theory and practical tipps on camera technique, food styling and post-processing. Besides, we had enough time for practical exercises including an on-location shooting at the amazingly beautiful Villa Barberina. And what would a long weekend in the Valdobbiad

Lovely lovely images, evoking grand memories of our wonderful 3 days together. Monika you and your team produced spectacular work and I have to say it was such a pleasure to see how you all were working. I hope you enjoyed yourself and I look forward to seeing you again. xo

Thanks for your kind words – we really had a fantastic time! And as said before, I think Vienna would be a great location for a workshop with our typical cafés and the Naschmarkt 😉 So I’m looking forward to meet you again soon.

Oh Monika – what gorgeous images!! Your styled shot was spectacular but I also love the shots in the Nino Franco tasting room 🙂 It was such a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you over the course of the weekend. I am so glad the trusty red Audi made the long journey to Valdobbiadene and I hope we get to meet up again in the not-too-distant future!

Thank you Jeanne! The tasting rooms was really indescribable – I’ve never seen such beautiful combination of color, light and textures before… And I completely forgot to mention how brave you were during all those days despite your injury. You were incredible and I wish you all the best!
